I started with windows 8, upgraded to windows 8 pro which installed 8.1. Explorer 11 started acting up and soon no IE 11. When I click on Explorer a blank window appears. All the options are dimmed. The option I am able to open is favorites which shows them all. However, when I click on a favorite it does absolutely nothing. It's been like this for a long time as I started using FireFox.
I have checked to be sure be sure that Explorer 11 was check off in the control panel. I've turned it off, and rebooted then turned it on an rebooted and no it did now come up. See case number 1246406578
I've tried Resetting IE Nothing happens, I tried refreshing PC nothing happens. This bothers me as even letting it delete all files it does not accept or recognize The Disk for Windows 8 pro even though I updated windows 8 using it. Ive verified
the disk key.
When I click on IE symbol, it goes to a screen layout except there is nothing active on it. The settings button shows all settings but everthing is in the background. However if I click on favorites, it shows the list and when I click on it nothing
happens.
I can find no way to update or reinstall Internet Explorer. It seems to me that it is an application but you can't remove it or install it by it self?? I am using FireFox and it works just fine. However I like IE but have not been able to
use it for months.
