foreignObject element Support

Currently, I'm working on a web application with D3.js and I incorporated some tags with the foreingObject, I read that IE doesn't support it that element.

I would like to know if that support is going to take into account for the next version of Internet Explorer or what is the element that replace the foreingObject.
