disable Hold box (from right click) on touch devices

Hi,

I am trying to get my Jquery sortable functionality working on our touch device (W8.1, ie11, dell venue 11).  The problem seems to reside around the right click event.

To move things around in a sortable table, I need to hold down to select the cell, and then I can drag it too a new position.

It seems that on my set up, I am unable to do this, UNLESS I hold a cell very close to the edge of the page.  This seems to be because the "hold" box that appears then stretches over the edge of the browser window.  I can then move the row wherever I like on the page.  However, if I hold it anywhere else I am unable to move the box more than a couple of pixels.

It seems to me that I need to disable this expansion selection box on "hold" (right click).  (I have tried disabling the context menu already - the menu doesn't appear now, the box does).

Any help much appreciated - thanks.

**UPDATE**

From reading the following (see section context menus):

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ie/jj583807(v=vs.85).aspx

it appears that I am looking to disable the "hold visual"
