MVC Application, IIS and SQL Server - Integrated Authentication

We have been developing an intranet MVC application and using the authenticated user successfully on our development machines to log who has made changes to a record using "suser_name()" in the stored procedures on the server.

When the application was moved into production however we can't seem to find any documentation regarding how to use the impersonation features that were available in ASP.net to pass the user credentials to SQL Server.  The closest we have come is being able to add the IIS Application Pool as a user for our SQL Server database.

Does anyone have any information in relation to this problem.

Our server is running Windows 7 Enterprise, SQL Server 2014 and IIS 7.
