Virtual Loopback is not working with iE11 under Windows Server 2012

Hi,

We have developed a Client/Server application, which works so far only locally on a machine (interface based on HTTP+JMS, using "localhost interface", with a fixed HTTP Port ). Our Client is based on .NET/c#sharp, and may be used as standalone (WPF technology) or in-browser (XBAP technology, usage of iExplorer or Chrome/Firefox with iETab extension). To make possible several instances of our application working in parallel on a same machine, we may use several different HTTP ports.

But for some of our Customer, who deploy applications with Citrix and need to have one single Port for all instances of our application, we use the "Virtual Loopback" mechanism : Each Citrix session has its own "localhost" interface redefined (127.0.0.x) and we keep same HTTP ports for all instances of our application.

This "Virtual Loopback" mechanism works well with "XenApp 6.x + Windows Server 2008 R2 + iE9", but doesn't work any more with "XenApp 7.6 + Windows Server 2012 R2 + iE11". We have conducted some tests with Citrix support, and it looks like iE11 doesn't support "Virtual Loopback" under Windows Server 2012 R2. We have done the test under Citrix session, under RDS session, or under RDS Init App, and each time it failed : iE11 doesn't transform "localhost" to the 127.0.0.x used for the (Citrix or RDS) session.

Is it a known limitation that iE11 (or iE9/10/11) doesn't support "Virtual Loopback" mechanism under Windows Server 2012 R2 ? Is there a workaround we could apply to make it work (iE11 configuration setup for instance ?) ?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks !
