Favicon not displaying on multiple IE versions installed (Windows 8 and Windows 10 OS)

I tested a number of IE versions on Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 and the favicon does not show on any of them. However when I test the same site the favicon shows if I test the same site on similar internet explorer versions but installed on Windows 7.

Has anyone faced this issue?

I was testing on a different site but it turnout that also http://www.microsoft.com has the same issue. The favicon is not showing in IE11 installed on Windows 8 but it does on IE11 installed on Windows 7
