Any hints to get IE9 and/or 10 working for me?
When I open IE9 with MSN.com set as the Home Page, it indicates in the Status Bar that it is "Waiting for response from msn.com" and the "spinner" runs n the msn.com tab. I have let this run for as long at 20 minutes with no change.
When I open IE9 with "blank" set as the default, it comes up quickly but still I can not access any URLs.
IE9 is not frozen. I can click other favorites and type URLs all of which produce the "Waiting for response from..." status and no displayed results. I can stop the URL request and access Settings and Internet Options.
Safari, Firefox, and Chrome all work normally on the same URLs.
I backed out the IE10 Update (which had the same problem) and installed two Security Updates to IE9 with no joy. I ran MS Essentials which discovered no anomalies. I ran SpyBot which identified two adware anomalies which I had repaired. I ran Glary Utilities which found no anomalies.
I deleted all Browsing History.
Tried F12 Developer Tools IE7, IE8, and IE9 Compatibility View to no joy. When I click a shortcut, it removes the html message line and replaces it with "Loading..."
Tried ipConfig FlushDNS, Release, and Renew to no joy.
Swapped ports on the workgroup switch with one of the PCs with a working IE10 to no joy.
I ran IE9 (and 10) with Add-Ins Disabled and I disabled all Add-Ins.
I am working on Windows 7 Ultimate with all (except language updates) installed as of 5/20/2013.
I have two other computers on the same network. Each works fine, one with IE10 and the other with IE8.
