@font-face not applicable on dropdown list items

The above css gives custom font for all the text except it stops working ONLY in INTERNET EXPLORER (all versions) for DROPDOWN LIST ITEMS (Refer. Image1)

I need a workaround for this preferably without using any client side scripting language.
