Getting window.opener(JavaScript) null on window.open window while using WebBrowser control

PriorityCritical

Language: VB .Net

Control: Browser Control

.

Description: - We have designed web pages which are running on a web server through a war application (Java-based), and this web archive is having folders inside it which are containing pages, i.e. when the application runs it has one context only like <Protocol>://<domain>/salesprocess

Its main page has window.open function for opening another page, and it is absolutely working fine with all the browsers.

.

Problem: -

We have created a Word AddIns program and there we are opening the same page in “Browser Control”,but when we are launching another page by window.open, we are not getting “window.opener” object and it is showing null in debug mode. And because of that our further process got aborted.

.

Already Attempted: -

I tried to search on the internet all the ways but didn’t find anything useful. In an article, I found that it is describing to run word as administrator. I checked and I got surprised that it was working fine.

But it won’t be possible to give administrator permission to all the 1000+ Users for running the program. (It will not be allowed on the client)

Kindly let us know if we can provide some specific permission besides administrator permission to the user or any other way to get “window.opener” object. It is critical for the application.

kindly help to resolve this. I will be really thankful.
