Force IE7 Mode via HTML - Inconsistent, INFURIATING behaviour.

I'm beyond sick to of this bullshit with IE.

First, Microsoft provide no concrete or clear documentation I can easily find on this so I have to google it, then the answers from Google give at least 5 different possible solutions.

I just want to force my website to show in IE7 mode when visited by any newer version of IE.

I had this apparently working OK by placing tags in the head of all my pages. Then randomly this stopped working. For days at least I've had my page showing broken to IE customers...

So I spent almost 2 hours researching and googling, again with no clear explanation or clear fix for this. I found using some PHP code instead of meta tags in the head fixed this and confirmed on multiple PCs, force refreshed etc.

At some point a few hours later on just one page it randomly stopped working and starting showing a broken website with the compatibility options, every other page worked fine and I couldn't see anything missing in the source. Just decided to ignore it I guess.

Now tonight I load up my site to double check and entire thing is now broken again and not picking up the IE Compatibility settings and has the options displayed.

I HAVE NOT IN ANY OF THE SITUATIONS CHANGED A THING.

This is beyond ridiculous and is costing me money. I am beyond disgusted in Microsoft's handling of this BULLSHIT.

I NEED A FIX. NOW. FOR THIS. Here is my site:

I am NOT a web developer, I run a simple WordPress site but because IE is a PIECE of SHIT it renders one part different to any other browser but works fine in compatibility mode. I need straight forward explanation and settings to put add to my site.
