CSS in IE10

I have run into a wall customizing a css template for IE10 use. My customizations include color changes, streamlining the site title to include a single substitute graphic and other in-place image and text changes. The colors are the only stylesheet based changes. Images and text are changed in each page's markup.

Customized pages and the stylesheet all validate at W3C's service pages, and load and operate fine in Firefox (Windows 7) and IE8 (XP VM).

In IE10 the fully customized home page loads, but other pages in the site load minus the styles and will not link back to the home page, although they hotlink back and forth among each other.

I have separately applied the color changes by keeping a different instance of the original site and stylesheet open and refreshing each change, but adding my substitute images only produces alt content. Pictures won't display unless the originals are reinstated. Page navigation under IE10 remains 100% operable within this defective site instance. The custom images load fine in Firefox.

I am looking for tools and techniques that will allow me to customize the template for IE10 more flexibly and with freedom to substitute my own graphics.
