What is it with IE 10 not supporting CSS gradients?

I have tried every trick in the book to get CSS gradients to work in IE10 (10.0.9200.16635) - without success.

I even used 3 links I found here that are on Microsoft's own domain, and none of them work either:

With or without prefixes, nothing works - what is the deal?
