IE11 Windows 8.1 Pro on UEFI-SSD system, local and online change beginning December 24, 2013. Current platform is UEFI install (compare GP install, UEFI exhibits occasional mouse freezing in Xbox games, documented bug).
Previously, selector background-size: cover variable retains image proportions and causes image to fill background. At 0:00 on noted date, cover variable stopped working, locally and online (CSS Tricks). Also, for several hours, auto variable also was no help. At about 06:00 background-size: auto started working and is now required on this system to cause the noted background effect. However, we see that W3 Schools example forbackground-size: cover demonstrates the effect and auto does not (script interference?)! So we want to know, is this style syntax change intended, and is it permanent (and, why does this change occur on my system, but not at W3 Schools)?
Oh, and if/when CSS3 change confirms, what was change for, and where else is my system being isolated from previously shared standards? It would be good to share this with web development friends.
